| MICHAEL A. NICKOL FINE ARTS 2006 is the thirty-sixth year as fine art dealers for Michael and Betty Nickol. We started in 1970 by opening Gallery 100 in the 100 Center in Mishawaka Indiana, the first business to open there. We maintained that space until 1981, when we became private art dealers working from our old Victorian home. In August 1999, when it seemed obvious to us that the 100 Center was having a resurgence under its new owner, we reopened a gallery in the Center. Our business is international and our specialty is 19th and 20th Century American and European art. Our clients include both private and corporate collectors and museums in the United States and Europe. Our services, along with our business of dealing in fine pictures, include consultation on and market evaluation of works for our clients. The consultation and appraisal portion of our business is based on our extensive contacts in the art and business communities and our vast art reference library. (Our reference library includes historic price data on virtually every significant artist active since 1800.) We do fine art appraisal work for insurance and estate purposes and occasionally for other legal requirements. Among the paintings we have had the pleasure to own and sell have been works by Winslow Homer, Mary Cassatt, Charles Russell, Robert Reid, Milton Avery, T. C. Steele, William Merritt Chase, Grant Wood, and many other important American artists. We were LeRoy Neiman's dealer in this area from 1972 until 1981 and we were the area dealer for Norman Rockwell in this area until his death in 1978. Other artists whom we have had the pleasure to have dealt in include Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Marc Chagall, Claude Monet and numerous others. We have also, on occasion, dealt in works by Old Masters. Our gallery specializes in American & European paintings from 1870 to present. We are especially strong in Midwest American artists and in works by Indiana artists. When you visit 100 Center, please make it a point to stop in the gallery. We feel that your visit will be well worth the time. |
